Mr. Stephens was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.

He was preceded in death by father, Carl O'Dell Stephens, mother, Gladys Hazel Stephens, and nephew, James Wesley Baker.

Survivors include, daughter, Sharlene LeAlma Stephens, sister, Gay Nell Childers, brother, Gayln Clay Stephens, brother, Glynn Carlton Stephens, sister, Gina LeDora Duncan, and several nieces & nephews.
